TICAP Conference
Its absolutely about time that their was a conference on this issue. I so wish I could have been there but unfortunately the expense was too much for me.
I am following the events with excitement and interest on this blogg..

and it is very encouraging to hear that many people are actively working hard on getting the truth recognised.

I'm fed up with the smoking ban!
The smoking ban is ridiculous, customers are staying at home and pubs are struggling, and what for? Anti smokers are pleased with themselves that they have brought about an anti smoking culture but the cost of this idea has been the decimation of the hospitality industry, mainly pubs, social clubs and bingo halls.
Now the worst fears for British pub culture are being realised. Since the ban came into effect, pubs have been closing down at the rate of 30 a week in England alone and this number is rising, and with them many clubs and bingo halls. Anti smokers promised that non-smokers would flood in to replace the lost smokers. They never came. All across Britain, pub culture is dying, networks of friendships have been broken, the elderly have been pushed outside into the wind and rain, while anger and resentment have grown. And not just among smokers. There are many non-smokers who can see the plain iniquity of a discrimination against smokers which has now become persecution.
Air purification systems, seperate smoking rooms, the freedom to be a smoking establishment or not. These are common sense solutions to this draconian, heavy handed legislation.
I believe that the ban will have to be ammended eventually, but this must happen sooner rather than later. Get involved and write to your MP, have your say in newspapers, educate yourself on the truth about second hand smoke and the lies that have been used by organisations like ASH. Follow what organisations like FOREST and Freedom 2 choose are saying.
